Your immediate action is needed to stop the continued rising price of gasoline, home heating oil and transportation fuels. In just two days, the House of Representatives will vote on legislation to prevent reckless speculation in the energy markets. We need your help to pass this legislation before prices rise even higher.

Speculators drive up oil prices by exploiting loopholes and trading in secret. This inflates prices and damages our country's already weakened economy. We cannot allow this to continue. Today, you can demand an end to Wall Street's ability to trade in these markets in secret.

In a few days, the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on H.R. 4173, the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009. If passed, this legislation will increase transparency, close loopholes and make it more difficult for Wall Street speculators to gamble in energy markets.

Please take a quick moment to tell your member of Congress to vote for H.R. 4173, legislation to stop oil speculation and reform financial markets. Even if you have contacted your representative on this issue in the past, today's e-mail could influence their vote.

You can learn more about the dangerous effects of oil speculation by visiting our newly redesigned Web site at www.StopOilSpeculationNow.com. You also can find out the results of the upcoming congressional vote by following us on Facebook or Twitter.

Together, we can help protect America's economic recovery.

Thank you,

What the Experts Say ...
"The fact is the financial industry is central to our nation's ability to grow, to prosper, to compete and to innovate. This reform will foster innovation, not hamper it. It is designed to make sure that everybody follows the same set of rules."
President Barack Obama, United States of America, 07/21/2010
